May 2009
A multi-part series highlighting the many festivals in Cincinnati in May.
May really kicks off a season of festivals here in Cincinnati with five good ones. Cincy-Cinco Latino Festival kicks us off early this Sunday, May 3rd on Fountain Square. Then May Festival begins on May 22 and continues for two weekends from May 22 through May 30. Taste of Cincinnati will be Memorial Day weekend as usual, May 23 through May 25. Summerfair Cincinnati covers the last weekend May going from May 29 through May 30. And the Cincinnati Fringe Festival begins on May 26 and takes us in to June actually, ending on June 6.
A special Festival Calendar section has been added to the side bar and will remain up all summer and through the Mid-Point Music Festival in September.

Other than Summerfair and Paddlefest, which are at Coney Island, all festivals listed are downtown. (Paddlefest does include the actual paddle down the river to the Public Landing.) There are plenty of other festivals in Northern Kentucky and the northern Cincinnati suburbs which I have not included.
Beginning next Friday we will have a weekly ‘Festival Facts’ and by the end of the month we will have covered all four major festivals in May.
Schedule of Friday’s Festival Facts:
May 8: May Festival
May 15: Taste of Cincinnati
May 22: Cincinnati Fringe Festival
May 29: Summerfair Cincinnati
Check festival websites for details and I will give more information as dates approach.

Lebanese festival -- fine food abounds! It's in Walnut Hills at the church on Taft & Victory Pkwy (I think). Early June? June 7? Anyway it's tasty.
I wonder if the Fire Museum will sponsor a Chili Festival this year. I always liked that.
