So I don't know if you caught it, but on last night's premiere of 'Project Runway', a glimpse of Cincinnati was shown.

Althea Harper from Dayton, Ohio, is a recent graduate of DAAP and in her 'Audition Tape' clip they are up on the roof of the Emery Center Apartments. Rash of Broken Windows?

Is it me or is there a rash of broken windows Downtown and in Over the Rhine lately? CityKin relays hearing breaking glass here on this post. I’ve noticed broken windows at Grammer’s and at the Cincinnati Preservation Association Office. And I noticed this broken window at the former Diner on Sycamore. (Photo taken from my car.)What gives?

Happy Anniversary

Today would have been my parents' wedding anniversary. Cincinnati dating memories for them abound even though they were from Hamilton. They, and by that I mean mostly mom, would talk about dancing at Moonlight Gardens, going to Shuller’s Wigwam in College Hill, and coming downtown for shows and evening mass. Yes, Catholic dating of the 1950’s apparently included going to church. Or at least it did for my wild and crazy parents.

• The National Trust for Historic Preservation announced their 11 most endangered sites for 2009. Miami’s Marine Stadium is sweet looking. Over the Rhine was listed in 2006.
• Knowing my love of The Sound of Music, two different people have sent me this cool video. I say we pick a song and do something similar in the lobby of Union Terminal.
• May is National Mental Health Month. Man, it couldn’t have come at a better time.
• The American Institute of Architects (AIA) published their 2009 Honor Awards. For a modern church, I really liked the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland.
• I was at the Red’s game on Saturday. Good crowd with 40,000+ for Joey Votto Bobblehead night. Red’s attendance is actually up 2.2% over same time last year (according to the USA Today).

• Why does the National League Central Division have six teams and the American League West only four?
• I’m not a trekkie but the new Star Trek movie looks good.
• The new 2009 – 2010 Downtown Cincinnati Guide is out. Pick one up around town.
• I kind of like the song “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus. Sad, I know.
• The 2009 Cincinnati Mayor's race may become a vote between the pro and anti streetcar factions. The Republican puppet, err candidate, has come out against it.
• A question on Enquirer.com asked the question who had the best biscuits and gravy in Cincinnati. My imaginary Gateway Quarter restaurant ‘Stammtisch’ would definitely serve them.
