Raise the Rutherford!

Part VI: Closing
A six-part, slightly humorous series to erect a statue of Rutherford B. Hayes in Cincinnati.

So who is with me to 'Raise the Rutherford'?

As I indicated, I suspect the cost of the statue and base only to be between $200,000 and $300,000 depending on the final design. If every local blogger gave just one dollar . . . We'd have like twenty dollars. And we would be that much closer to our goal!

If you would like a refresher on all parts of this series, click on the links below:

Do you have any questions or concerns on the location? Which one do you prefer? Or would you prefer an existing park or location downtown? Is President Rutherford B. Hayes even deserving of a statue downtown? (Of course I say 'yes'.) Or would you prefer to recognize another local figure? If you noticed on the Hayes Circle and Broadway Commons site plan in Part V, I had developed a small square for a George Pendleton statue and the park was named after Charley Harper. How fun would a series of interactive sculptures and play equipment based on Harper's work be? (Streets too were named after Harriet Beecher Stowe and Levi Coffin.)
