Recap: Games 25 – 28
One upset and crazy big voter turn-out in one match marked this round of the 2009 Cincinnati March(itecture) Madness and it all sets us up for the Final Four.
In the East Region:
Game 25 - No. 1 seed Music Hall beat the No. 4 seed City Hall, 47 – 20.
Game 26 - No. 2 seed Roebling Suspension Bridge beat the No. 3 see Spring Grove Cemetery, 41 – 25.
In the West Region:
Game 27 - No. 1 seed Union Terminal beat the No. 4 seed Tyler Davidson Fountain, 86 – 4.
Game 28 - No. 3 seed Plum Street Temple lost to the No. 10 seed Cincinnati Observatory, 29 – 46.
Both No. 1 seeds move in to the Regional Finals. Union Terminal had a plethora of votes. I didn’t know why or how . . . but I do now and I think it is fantastic. A reader told me Museum Center employees have seen the blog and are voting in mass. I love it! I think Music Hall patrons better be prepared to organize.
This round saw really one of the biggest upsets this late in the competition when the No. 10 seed Cincinnati Observatory beat Carew Tower. Had Carew Tower won, the Regional Finals would have had the same four structures as last year.
