I was trying to think of a 'Cincinnati' thing to do and I remember my mom taking us to Burnet Woods and going to the slide. She mentioned that she would come here as a child and at one time, her cousins worked at the snack stand adjacent to the pond. So Happy Birthday Mom! Yes, every day is Mother's Day.

The slide has eaten many a pant! (Or "many a pants?") They coated it with something that makes it less of a seat-hazard.
Moving back here after a 20 year absence makes me notice what's changed for better and for worse. The Trailside Museum -- way better! We love it!
Wish they'd bring back skating and peddle boats on the pond tho.
The slide could definitely be a lot better.
I think the paint they put on it made it much slower, The bare concrete with a piece of cardboard worked the best.
If you look around there is usually a stray piece of cardboard near the slide. Unless someone thought they were being helpful and put it in the garbage!
OH -- why didn't this win a Queenie?
Also, just learned that the Trailside Museum has one of the oldest (the oldest?) planetarium west of the Alleghenies.
Idea: do a series on WPA-built stuff!
