Blizzard of '78

Today is the 30th Anniversary of the Blizzard of 1978. Snow started falling at dawn and lasted a few days. Records indicate snow of only like 7 inches in Cincinnati. As a kid in Hamilton I remember it more like 17 inches but I guess it wasn’t that much.

The event is being discussed on Urban Ohio and Rob from Fort Wayne, Indiana shared a few of his photos. I know it isn’t Cincinnati but it could be a street in Cincinnati . . .

I remember the Blizzard of '78 very well - power outages, snow drifts several feet high, & bitter cold 70 mph winds. my family still has a certificate issued from WHIO-TV's weatherman Gil Whitney, that says "I Survived the Blizzard of '78."

Dale Huffman at the Dayton Daily News has been chronicling the anniversary, and a lot of readers are sharing their memories and stories. Pretty good stuff.
