QCS Quips

Random thoughts . . . Cincinnati related and otherwise

  • The bands and musicians for the Mid-Point Music Festival have been announced. Check them out here.
  • VisuaLingual tagged me on a list on Facebook but I think I’d rather answer with my 15 favorite books. “Rutherford B. Hayes: Warrior & President” would be on it.
  • To all the Southwestern Ohio College students who smoke in the Ruth Lyon’s alley: Put your cigarette butts in the ash trays provided and not on the ground!
  • One day last week at lunchtime, Fountain Square had free Goetta dogs, ‘Cooking with Caitlin’, and a number of Cincinnati firemen passing out literature on layoffs.
  • Brian Bennett, the ESPN Big East Blogger, has a good summary of how he sees the Big East stacking up against other conferences including the WAC and Mountain West. This all in light of no Big East teams appearing in the pre-season Top 25 coach’s poll.
  • And speaking of Bearcat football, the first game is now less than a month away.

Oh come on Mr. Hayes...lets roll one more easter egg!!! If you desire to talk about presidents, why not talk about some that made a real contribution to the country and the world! Eisenhower, Lincoln, Truman...Now, those fellas made a difference!

Dan,

Very refreshing to see the beauty of Cincinnati through your lens. I feel to want to sit right there and take it all in, the very going back in time ant to feel the very life of each building. Each has a special story, From those first creative thoughts to the finishing touches and the the very breath of life that has filled them over the years. In such a busy world your work here has given me pause and a moment to reflect. Thank you for showing me, a stranger to Cincinnati, that there is beauty in each of the beautiful building and that we are missing a measure of joy and peace when we rush by without so much as a glance. Well, I thank you and thought you should know that your work touches lives for good. Also, Bob and you have worked well together in your photos and you both should be pleased. I remain a friend and will continue to view your work. Don; ps. (The thought that you considered removing the comments section was in great part why I chose to let you know how proud I am to be able to call you, friend.Keep up the good work you do.:)
