Random thoughts . . . Cincinnati related and otherwise
- My good friend Sherry Corbett was killed seven years ago today. Her killer was a person she knew but who was eventually found not guilty by reason of insanity. She was sentenced to Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare in Columbus, OH. I do not know if she is still serving time there or not.
- The latest quarterly edition of the Cincinnati Preservation Association newsletter is available online. (Link to a PDF)
- Jim Tarbell – The Mural? Really?
- There is a new Arts blog on Cincinnati.com
The Morning Glory Ride has been cancelled this year. That’s very sad. - If people feel the need to hide behind anonymous comments, I will simply remove the comment section entirely. Thank you to Anonymous Commenter #2 though for I think trying to stick up for me.
I do not think that would be fair. People have a right to their opinions, thoughts and feelings. After all, it is a public forum. Or is it not? Some items of interest have nothing to do with anything of a personal nature and some folks just choose to remain nameless!
ReplyDeleteI usually don't read the comments (sorry, I check out things on the RSS feeds), but those were truly bizarre comments.
ReplyDeleteInstead of shutting it off altogether, you could just choose to moderate. Does it add work? A little, but at least people who post ridiculous things will be dissuaded.
Dan,
ReplyDeleteDon't do away with comments.
This isn't a public forum or a democracy, its your blog.
If some chicken-shit a-hole can't sign his/her name, then delete those with extreme prejudice.
Thats what I do.
I agree with 5chw4r7z - if I get a weirdo comment on my blog, I just delete it. (With the "forever" box checked, so it just disappears without a "this comment has been deleted" message.)
ReplyDeleteThis is your house, and commenters are your guests - if they can't be nice, they can go start their own blog. :)
I just read the comments from that post. They just don't make any sense.
ReplyDeleteI allow anonymous comments, but I have deleted them if they're inappropriate or flat out mean. I'm sorry that someone felt they had to do that.
Jim Tarbell the mural = Awesome
ReplyDeleteNo Morning Glory Ride = Crap
Dan,
ReplyDeletePlease don't do away with the comments.
