In today's
The Catholic Telegraph Photography Project Blog, there is a
follow-up post about the life of Father Stephen T. Badin. From the time of his death in 1853 until 1904, his body laid in a crypt at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral. It was then moved to the University of Notre Dame and buried under the
Indian Chapel.
Here is a picture of the
Indian Chapel from my recent visit. It was completely restored in
1906 but Father Badin originally built it in
1831. (It is hard to make out the cross at the peak of the gable but it is there.)
More photos of Notre Dame can be found here.
