2009 Cincinnati March(itecture) Madness

Recap: Games 9 - 12

Strong voter turn-out produced three blow-outs and one very close contest.

In the East Region:
Game 9 - No. 5 seed Times-Star Building beat the No. 12 seed Paul Brown Stadium, 32 – 3.
Game 10 - No. 7 seed ‘Bishop’s Place’ beat the No. 10 seed P&G World Headquarters Tower Building, 28 – 6.

In the West Region:
Game 11 - No. 5 seed Central Trust Tower beat the No. 12 seed St. Monica – St. George Church, 18 – 16.
Game 12 - No. 7 seed Memorial Hall lost to the No. 10 seed Cincinnati Observatory, 13 – 26.

This round really produced some interesting results I think. The higher seeds won all the matches except for the No. 7 vs. No. 10 match where the Cincinnati Observatory beat the lower seed Memorial Hall. With their similar statures, I expected it to be close but I am actually surprised the Observatory had the backing it did. Same to with St. Monica – St. George Church’s impressive showing against Central Trust Tower. And I actually expected P&G to do much better than its six votes – one of which was mine!

The only thing clear here is the overwhelming victory for the Time-Star Building. Will it carry on to Round Two?
