Avondale's Eden

I was on Forest Avenue today and noticed this house out of the corner of my eye . . . 3547 Eden Avenue. I had to get a closer look.

Do not know any history really except it looks as if it was a nursing home.

Thats an architecturally interesting house. It was far too common for large homes to be converted for this kind of use. There is a huge old mansion on the corner of Luckey and Fairmount that is a retirement home. They also own a large Queen Ann and another large home across the street. While I wish large homes could stray single family sometimes the only way to save them is through adaptive reuse. However the interiors always suffer.

That's depressing.
