Cincinnati’s Monday Sports Manager

. . . On Thursday
A round-up of the week’s sporting news

Bengals
The Bengals cannot do anything normal it seems. They do not win nor do they lose this week and come away with a tie versus the Philadelphia Eagles. I actually took a nap and didn’t see the end of the game. Bengals play tonight!

Bearcats
The Bearcats continued their winning ways with a victory over Louisville in Louisville. Many are calling it one of the most important wins in the history of the program. They are now ranked 20th in the Coaches’ Poll and 19th in both the AP poll and the BCS Standings. Huge, huge game this weekend at home versus Pittsburgh. I'm telling you this better be the largest crowd ever at Nippert or I will be disappointed. A win this week and the Orange Bowl looks very promising. Checking ESPN.com, Bruce Feldman predicted a bid to the FedEx Orange Bowl, against the University of Miami, Florida. Mark Schlabach now predicts a bid to the FedEx Orange Bowl versus Maryland. We need to take one game at a time however.

As a side note, everyone is talking about Kelly being offered the job at Tennessee. I'm sorry people but as long as UC is doing well, no matter the coach, there are always going to be rumors that he is leaving for a bigger school. I personally would rather have that than a whipping boy program where no one is interested in the coach at all.
