Let Them Eat . . . Lunch!

Potbelly: Fountain Square

Well, some co-workers and I tried the new Potbelly for lunch. We went early as last week’s attempt was quashed by long lines. To me the best things about the place were the location (obviously), the live music, and the price. You can get a sandwich, chips, and a soda for $5.97, not including tax which is comparable to places like Subway. I ended up getting their potato soup too which was pretty good but obviously added to my total. The sandwich itself was a basic sandwich and average but about what I would expect for the price. We’ll go again just for atmosphere and location. But if I’m looking for a fantastic sandwich downtown, I might spend a little more and go to Quizno’s.

Bonus: Potbelly does open at 6:30 am for breakfast service Monday through Friday and that's served until 11:00 am. See website for additional hours.

I actually like Potbelly a lot more than Quizno's - their Italian sandwich is the best! It always seems to me that the stuff at Quizno's looks better on the poster than it does in real life, so I wind up being disappointed - especially for the price.

I haven't been to the downtown Potbelly yet, but I'd be interested to see what their breakfast menu entails. Do they stock bagels and such, or do they just put eggs and cheese on the sub bread?

I've never been to either a Potbelly's or a Quiznos, but you're kidding about live music aren't you?

I wish I had thought of them today, i am always looking for a lunch spot that's open on Saturday to take the kids.

No, they really do have live music. It was a guy on teh guitar when we were there. Not sure if it is all the time or only some days.

They have their breakfast menu online. I am not sure what it really consists of but if I remember it was more like breafast sandwhiches.
