Mom & Dad
Today would have been my parents' wedding anniversary. Cincinnati dating memories for them abound even though they were from Hamilton. They, and by that I mean mostly mom, would talk about dancing at Moonlight Gardens, going to Shuller’s Wigwam in College Hill, and coming downtown for shows and evening mass. Yes, Catholic dating of the 1950’s apparently included going to church. Or at least it did for my wild and crazy parents.

My grandparents always had stories about Moonlight Gardens as well. They would take the streetcar downtown, then hop on the Island Queen steamboat that took people out to Coney Island. They would dance all night long and hopefully catch the last Island Queen back into town. Sometimes they weren't so lucky and actually had to walk the entire way back.
