Part VII – BONUS!

St. Elizabeth Church, Norwood

For yesterday's Historic Catholic Churches of Cincinnati Part VII, I photographed St. Elizabeth in Norwood twice. The second day I went to photograph, some members of Vineyard Central Church were cleaning up the sidewalks around the church and the immediate neighborhood. Vineyard bought Old St. Elizabeth’s in 1995. I struck up a conversation, by happenstance, with the Pastor’s mother and she said she didn’t think it would be a problem if I stuck my head in the place. So of course it was an opportunity I could not pass up. Once inside I met a guy named Jeremy and he said they were setting up for Easter and that it would be the first time in a while since they used the main sanctuary space. I asked if I could take a few photos and he kindly gave permission. So here are some bonus shots of the beautiful and former St. Elizabeth’s including some interiors!
Also note, Vineyard operates a Community House in the old Sisters of Charity Convent next door. And the community is actively trying to save St. Elizabeth’s through a variety of efforts. If you want, you can check out those efforts here.
