Recap: Games 17 – 20
One error in the early voting and one strange voter turn-out marked this round of the 2009 Cincinnati March(itecture) Madness.
In the East Region:
Game 17 - No. 1 seed Music Hall beat the No. 9 seed ‘Oakwood’, 39 – 4.
Game 18 - No. 3 seed Spring Grove Cemetery beat the No. 11 seed St. Francis De Sales Church, 28 – 17.
In the West Region:
Game 19 - No. 1 seed Union Terminal beat the No. 9 seed Old St. Mary’s Church, 73 – 5!?
Game 20 - No. 3 seed Plum Street Temple beat the No. 6 seed Gwynne Building, 30 – 15.
First, I made an error early on Sunday and had City Hall, not Music Hall, competing against 'Oakwood' in Game 17. Thankfully a reader caught he mistake and hopefully it did not cause too much confusion.
That said all higher seeds won fairly handily. However there was close early voting in two of the match-ups. Both St. Francis De Sales Church and The Gwynne Building were putting up a fight until late voting finally pushed the No. 3 seeds past.
The added craziness was the 78 total votes cast on Game 19. Don’t ask me how that happened.
