QCS Quips

Random thoughts . . . Cincinnati related and otherwise.
  • A comment on Cincinnati.com mentioned the idea of Notre Dame joining the Big East in football. Not sure it will ever happen given the Irish TV deal, but can you imaging UC playing Notre Dame every year?
  • I enjoyed UFC 91 as Brock Lesner beat Randy Couture and there were a number of great fights including wins by Cincinnatians, Dustin Hazelett and Matt Brown. (They train here.)
  • My new favorite song is "Last Call" by Lee Ann Womack.
  • I think my favorite Christmas movie is "Elf". What is yours? And please no saccharine drivel like "It’s a Wonderful Life".
  • There is nothing like a really good kiss.
  • And Happy Thanksgiving!

It's a Wonderful Life is a Great Movie!!! It isn't my favorite holiday movie, however. I'd go with White Christmas with Bing, Danny, and Rosemary!

My wife just commented the other day that she's really looking forward to watching Elf this Christmas. It is a great flick . . .

That said, after Charlie Brown's Christmas album, my favorite is the Home Alone Soundtrack.

My favorite holiday movie is Home for the Holidays -- directed by Jodie Foster, with Holly Hunter, Robert Downey Jr., Anne Bancroft, Dylan McDermott, among others. I laugh every time I watch it (which has been many times). It has so many touches that capture holidays with the family, and the ending is very sweet without being saccharine.

You just can't beat National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

I laugh just thinking about Cousin Eddy kidnapping Clark's boss and bringing him to the house as a present.
