Walking Tour: Northside

Went on the ARCHITREKS walking tour of Northside yesterday. Learned even more about the history of the neighborhood and some of the buildings. I definately recommend it for next year. Here are some of my favorite buildings or images . . .

Former Liberty Theatre (1909)

Zachman's Furniture Company
Notice the two-story cast iron storefront!

Park Theatre (1913)

Engine Company #20 (1891); Charles Fox, Architect
Another great Charles Fox designed fire station! East Walnut Hills is of course another one.

Salmon P. Chase School (Begin 1882); Henry Siter, Architect
A fairly plain Henry Siter designed school. Check out Fairview, Mt. Adams, or the former 6th District School in Over the Rhine for even better examples of his work.

Northside Presbyterian Church (1886)

Cumminsville Branch Library (1908)

Silverson Residence at "Millionaires' Corner"
