Cincinnati March(itecture) Madness

Recap: Games 13 - 16

The final 'Round One' games of Cincinnati March(itecture) Madness finally produced some closer match-ups and produced two "upsets".

In the East Region:
Game 13 - No. 12 seed Bishop’s Place beat the No. 5 seed Taft Museum in an upset, 16 -7.
Game 14 - No. 7 seed St. Peter-in-Chains beat the No. 10 seed Covenant First Presbyterian, 15 -8.

In the West Region:
Game 15 – Also in an upset, No. 12 seed Phoenix Building beat the No. 5 seed Alphonso Taft Home, 15 – 8.
Game 16 - No. 7 seed City Hall beat the No. 10 seed Central Trust Building, 12 -10.

Game 16 was our closest game to date with City Hall winning over the Central Trust Tower by only 54% of the vote. (Memorial Hall had beaten the Zoo Structures with 57% of the vote.)

Voting was down from the previous two rounds of voting. I think it may have due to the matches taking place over the weekend. If there is a 2009 Cincinnati March(itecture) Madness Tournament, I think we might alter some of the dates to make sure most of the voting takes place during the week.

Voting for the first two games of 'Round Two' begins tomorrow.

You had to put Music Hall up against the Times Star Building?!?

I hate you! ;)

Oops...I forgot it's Round Two. Strike that last statement.

You're probably right about the weekends being the reason for the low vote totals, BTW. I know my readership declines nearly 50 percent on Saturdays and Sundays.

I didn't put it there. That is just how the seeding worked out. :)
