Cincinnati March(itecture) Madness

Recap: Games 9 - 12

The third slate of games of Cincinnati March(itecture) Madness produced another four blow outs with all of the "favorites" winning by relatively large margins.

In the East Region:
Game 9 - No. 8 seed Times Star beat the No. 9 seed Probasco House, 22 -10.
Game 10 - No. 3 seed Spring Grove Cemetery beat the No. 14 seed George Hatch House, 30 -2.

In the West Region:
Game 11 – No. 8 seed Genius of Water beat No. 9 seed Old St. Mary’s, 26 – 6.
Game 12 - No. 3 seed Roebling Bridge beat the No. 14 seed Findlay Market, 30 -2.

While I would have anticipated closer matches in the 8 vs. 9 matchups, both No. 8 seeds won handily with only the Times Star Building getting a little closer competition. The No. 3 seeds crushed their competition, both winning with 93% of the vote. Only the two No. 1 seeds won by greater percentage over their competition.

Our number of voters was down slightly from an average high of 38 votes in the second slate of games to 32 votes. After the next round of voting, we will have our Sweet 16 structures set! And if you thought the first round was hard in making a decision, round two will get even harder.

I'm not too surprised by Genius of Water's solid showing, I think there's a good chance it could make it to the finals. (My bet would be Carew Tower v. Genius of Water in the championship.)

Just want to add that this tournament is a brilliant idea, I'm really enjoying it.
