This Day in History

Today is my birthday.

I have tried to find some interesting events that took place on this day in Cincinnati history. However, I cannot find much besides the anniversary of a few Bengals games . . .

December 13, 1811, a small group of Catholics first met at the home of Joseph Fabler to discuss formation of a congregation in Cincinnati. It appears the first mass was still a few years off (1814) and the first Catholic Church in the city, Christ Church, would not be built until 1819.

December 13, 1927, the City of Cincinnati assumed operations of Lunken Field after it had been established in 1926 by Edmund Lunken. (Interestingly, the City’s website shows a history going back further.)
