Mayor Mark Mallory
2007 saw a lot of things happening in this city and it was all on Mayor Mallory’s watch. Maybe it is just good timing but I do not think so. Weather quietly behind the scenes or out in front, Mayor Mallory in my opinion is facilitating getting things done in this city. A good leader puts the right people in charge. A good leader builds consensus and teamwork. And I think those are happening with Mayor Mallory in charge. 2007 has seen real movement and development on The Banks, the Streetcar, Fountain Square, and the Gateway District. Obviously many people had a hand in these projects but if he wasn’t working on their behalf or as "head cheerleader", I doubt we would be where we are today. I know, and I am sure he’d agree, that we still have a long way to go and issues and problems to tackle but I have to believe forward momentum is ours. Add to that Mayor Mallory’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live after his Red’s Opening Day "pitch" and how could it not be his year?
Honorable Mentions for me include Bill Donabedian – 3CDC Managing Director Fountain Square (a few at 3CDC might deserve honorable mentions), Chris Bortz – Cincinnati City Council (for work on streetcar), Brian Kelly – UC Football Head Coach, and Ellen van der Horst – President Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber
Thoughts?

Definitely agree on Mallory. When things go bad, people quickly lay blame at the top. When things go well, leaders should take credit too.
If nothing else, he knew when to get out of the way.
Agree whole-heartedly with the Mallory pick. It's been a while that we've had such a visible mayor that has been so proactive rather than reactive. Kudos to Mayor Mallory.
