The Lancaster Building

I was walking by the Lancaster Building at 22 -24 West Seventh Street and noticed the "For Sale" sign on the building is gone. I really like the building and have always thought that stretch on the north side of Seventh Street was quite nice. I checked the Auditor’s site and it indicated the building was last purchased in 2006 but I did not see any indication of recent activity. The Auditor’s site indicates that the building was built in 1898.

The building is an eclectic composition with classical details including corinthian capitals on the first floor pilasters. Lower level quoins in rose color stone contrast with dark brick. There are fantastic oriel windows that rise four stories, begining on the 4th floor. And the entire building has a clearly defined base, middle, and top typical of early high-rise commercial buildings.
