Weekend Gridiron

Well, I went to two football games this weekend. And I saw two losses. The Bengals lost to the Arizona Cardinals 35 - 27 this afternoon in front of yet another sellout of 65,000+ at Paul Brown Stadium. And the Bearcats lost to the West Virginia Mountaineers 28 - 23 last night in front of a 35,000+ sellout at Nippert Stadium.

I have to say I was disappointed in the UC loss but I have to agree with Paul Daughtery's article in today's Cincinnati Enquirer. The Bearcats have come, and are going, far. If there is a moral victory, then I think UC can find much to be pleased about.

The Bengals, however, do not have much to be pleased about. It was a game of highs, including a blocked punt by DeDe Dorsey for a touchdown. Shortly followed by a pass by Carson Palmer intercepted for a touchdown by Antrel Rolle. Rolle in fact had TWO interceptions for touchdowns on the day. During post game interviews, Palmer took blame for the loss. He needed to with a career-high four interceptions. The Bengals can just not put together a total team effort. Good special teams' plays for instance were negated by a sloppy passing game. The Bengals are now 3-7 and continue to lose to teams they should beat.

I know I am just a guy in my seat high up in the 300 Level, but man it is hard to watch and root for them sometimes. Next year, I may just give up that seat.

I noticed that the bags are on the heads again.

I'm now actively seeking activities for Sunday afternoons.
