Weekend Warm-Up: October 19 – 21

My recommendations for something to do this weekend.

There are a number of events going on and the Downtown Resident’s Council Calendar is always a great place to start. It is always up to date and gives nearly every event happening downtown on a given day. For instance there are the last downtown Architreks walking tours before they close up shop for the winter. Downtown tours depart at 2:00 pm both Saturday and Sunday from the Contemporary Art Center. Not on the list, however is Architeks’ last Mt. Adam’s walking tour of the season, which leaves at 10:00 am on Saturday from the corner of St. Gregory & Pavilion Streets. All tours are $10 a person.

However as a reader of this blog knows, my weekend is all about UFC 77: Hostile Territory. Ultimate Fighting Championship comes to US Bank Arena on Saturday, October 20 with its live, pay-per-view Main Event. Pre-fight festivities began Wednesday with some parties and continue Friday with autograph sessions and weigh-ins at the arena. One of the most electric events I’ve ever been to was UFC 68 in Columbus, OH, so I am definitely looking forward to the sold out show.

The Bengals are also home this weekend with a game at 4:05 pm on Sunday. A ‘must win’ game if there ever was one. (Ok, so that phrase probably gets over used . . .) Check ‘em out on Fountain Square if you do not have tickets.
